Description

Aurichalcite

Carbonate mineral

Aurichalcite is a carbonate mineral, usually found as a secondary mineral in copper and zinc deposits. Its chemical formula is (Zn,Cu)₅(CO₃)₂(OH)₆. The zinc to copper ratio is about 5:4.

Aurichalcite clears the believer’s aura and smoothes their energy field. Due to the rarity of aurichalcite, it is mainly used as a collector’s mineral

Anyway, this Bottger fellow gave the blue-green mineral the name aurichalcite (“mountain copper”), which was close to the name that ancient Greeks gave to brass. Brass is made out of zinc and copper

Aurichalcite was first described back in the good old year of 1839 by some fellow named Bottger. No one seems to remember his first name though. Geology can be cruel as well as kind.
