The original layered automotive paint slag (rough) was made incidentally years ago by spray painting multiple production of cars in automotive factories. The paint overspray in the painting bays gradually build up on the tracks and skids and the car frames that were painted on overtime many colorful layers built up there. These paint overspray layers were hardened repeatedly in the ovens that the car bodies went into to cure the paint. Some of these deeper layers were even baked 100’s times. Eventually the paint build up would become obstructing and too tick and heavy and had to be removed as the story goes, Some crafty workers with an eye for beauty realized that this unique by product was worth salvaging it was super cured pattern like psychedelic agate and could be cut and polished like stone. WOW Recycle It seem to be the resounding statement. And so it was as the word got around about this remarkable material, it’s been said rockhounds started showing up at the auto factories, offering to help remove the psychedelic paint sadly the techniques that produced a great rough years ago are no longer in common use.  Cars are now painted by way of electrostatic process that essentially minimizes magnetizes enamels to the car body.
